breast augmentation

Breast Augmentation is a procedure in which the surgeon makes an incision on the breast typically in the inframammary fold or the nipple areola area and places a prosthesis underneath the muscle or above the muscle to enhance the size and shape of the breast.

What are the benefits of a Breast Augmentation?

Enhance

your appearance

If you think your breasts are small or that one is smaller than the other and this impacts how you dress or the type of bra needed to help with the asymmetry

Restore

Breast Volume

Breast augmentation allows women to restore lost fullness and eliminate post-pregnancy shrinking

Improves

Symmetry

The term breast asymmetry refers to having one breast that is different in size, volume, position, or form from the other. Breast augmentation allows women correct breast symmetry by inserting implants to even breast

What are my options for implants?

Saline or Silicone.

Although Dr. Mosca prefers Silicone implants

Where Are My Breast Implants Placed?
  • Subglandular implants are inserted beneath the breast tissue but above the pectoral muscles.

  • Submuscular implants are placed under the breast tissue and the pectoral muscles. This placement offers some of the most natural-looking results

  • Dual Plane involves placing the upper portion of the implant under the pectoral muscle, while allowing the lower half of the implant to sit directly under the breast tissue, over the pec muscle.

Where will my incision be?

Dr. Mosca typically places the incision along the inframammary fold which runs along the breast crease. This is where the underside of the breast meets the skin of the upper abdominal area.

Breast Profile Options?

Breast Profiles are based on the patients wishes. The implant profile determines the projection of the implant. Implants of the same volume (CCs) will be shaped differently—and project differently—depending on their profile.

Types of Breast Profiles?
  • Low profile implants have a wide base but do not project much. These implants are ideal for women with a broader chest wall.

  • Moderate profile implants have a narrower base and project more than low profile implants do. These implants are commonly used for women with average-width chest walls.

  • High profile implants have a small base and project further from the chest. These implants are best for petite women with thin chest walls.

  • Ultra high profile implants have an even narrower base than high profile implants and project the furthest from the chest.
