LIPOSCULPTURE

WITH MINI tummy TUCK

A subset of women are candidates for a mini tummy tuck with liposuction of the upper portion of the abdomen instead of a full tummy tuck.  This is specifically for women with little to no  skin laxity above the umbilicus (belly button) and minor skin laxity/diastasis  below.  A mini tummy tuck does not mean “mini incision” which is typically smaller in length than a regular tummy tuck but typically still long enough to avoid dog ear deformities and tighten the lower abdominal musculature.

am I a candidate for a mini tummy tuck?

REMOVE LOWER BELLY POOCH

Only the loose lower skin below the belly button is removed.

CONTOURING

OF THE BELLY

Only the small diastased muscles below the belly button are tightened to flatten the lower belly appearance.

TIGHTENING

AND TONE

An overall flatter and tighter appearance will be seen on profile photos.

WILL MY INCISION BE SHORTER?

The incision will be approximately 6-8 cm shorters than a traditional abdominoplasty, and usually maintained within the hip bones.

HOW MUCH FAT CAN BE REMOVED WITH THIS PROCEDURE?

When combining liposuction with another surgical procedure, up to 1 liter of fat is possible to extract, however most patients who are a candidate for this procedure will not have 1 liter of fat on the abdomen and flanks.

DOES THIS SURGERY INCLUDE MUSCLE TIGHTENING?

The lower abdominal musculature below the belly button will be tightened (plicated).

WILL MY UMBILICAL CORD BE AFFECTED?

The umbilicus will not be affected with scarring during a mini tummy tuck.
